Sixteen year old Kir, lives in a world where 21st Century Earth has long been forgotten. Power rests with the Odran fundamentalist, 'Overseer Parzival.' But memories of an ancient civilisation are being stirred up by the discovery of ancient artefacts that appear to have an ominous tale to tell.

Kir finds herself in possession of one such artefact, and the Overseer will do anything to get his hands on it. After her father and her sister are kidnapped, Kir must fight her way across divided lands with a team of disparate helpers, from communities suffering old enmity. But what starts off as a rescue mission turns into an all-out coup…

And Kir knows her orthodox Odranist father isn't going to like it when she starts to experience uncontrollable bursts of mysterious zyanic power…
